Reflective Essay

When I reflect back on the process of writing this paper and the beginning of the semester I think about my understanding on education.  I like many believed that school was just to get good grades, pass courses, to graduate, and get a good job.  I learned that there is a whole creative aspect of learning that needs to be explored and discovered.  Everyone thinks and processes differently.  They all have their own form of creativity. 

I had a hard time completing the paper because I had never before heard of Ethos, Logos, and Pathos.  I struggled to understand and apply the principals while preparing the paper.  Because of this it probably took me twice as long as it should have.  I forced my way through it and I received helpful feedback from my peers.

Throughout the semester I have learned to pay attention to details that I had not noticed before.  I have started to process things differently and I start asking myself why?  I would also take the time to reflect on that and ask myself is this important or does it affect me?  I also have learned to squeeze out more information by understand what is logical, persuasive, and if there is any validity based on credentials.

I have also grown to understand economics and the direct application in my life.  I now see the importance of growth and consumption, which is what the American economy is based on.  I see that this relates directly to business.  If a company is to grow then it is necessary that they produce a product or service that that the consumers want.  This is relevant to every aspect of my life.  If I am to be successful I must provide something that is needed and/or wanted.  If that growth is to be continuous then it must evolve and change as the needs and desires of the consumer.  I feel that I have grown and changed in this semester.
